Improved Independence with Self-Care Tasks

BETTER SELF-CARE

Maintaining your ability to care for yourself enables you to remain independent.

Self-Care is also known as ADLs (activities of daily living). ADLs include, but are not limited  to someone’s ability to feed, dress, toilet, bathe, and groom themselves independently.

Throughout the natural aging progress, ADL tasks can become more difficult as we lose flexibility, stamina, and balance.

As occupational therapy practitioners, our goal is to train our clients to increase and maintain their ability to perform these very important daily tasks whether it is through traditional methods or an adaptive method.
