Balance and Aging Specialist – OT, OTA, PTA

Job Type: PRN

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, high-energy therapist to join our team. You will work directly with our members, helping them improve their strength, balance, endurance, and overall mobility. Applicants must be able to effectively and independently manage group sessions up to 4 people (Individuals engaged in different activities simultaneously). At BIM, you will apply your clinical knowledge and skills to deliver personalized training tailored to each client. 

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping seniors and desires to operate outside the limiting restrictions that insurance applies!

Work location is in person at our studio at 1009 Lila Avenue, Milford, Ohio 45150.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement interventions based on members’ personal goals
  • Monitor members’ progress and grade/adapt as necessary
  • Complete daily notes and monthly progress reports in a timely manner
  • Effectively run small groups and individual sessions
  • Demonstrate excitement to expand knowledge and learn new skills
  • Effectively recommend and educate members on adaptive equipment, energy conservation techniques, and compensatory strategies
  • Perform standardized assessments such as MMT, 6MWT, and BBS
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills.
  • Manage a large caseload schedule

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program or physical therapist assistant program or a master’s degree in occupational therapy.
  • Current state licensure as an occupational therapist (OT) or occupational therapy assistant (OTA) or physical therapist assistant (PTA).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with senior populations.
  • Must be able to independently and confidently run groups of 4 (Individuals engaged in different activities simultaneously)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop creative and engaging interventions
  • Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to enhancing quality of life
  • Ability to problem solve while treating
